I watched her confidence slip when the bill arrived. The total didn’t match the easy ordering—extras, wine, more than expected. She didn’t know I’d added three boxed meals for later. I didn’t argue or explain; I just stayed calm and kept my limit.
What stayed with me wasn’t satisfaction, but clarity. Boundaries aren’t for others—they’re promises to yourself. When someone treats your comfort lightly, you don’t need a scene. You act, and let your actions speak.
