Donald Trump called Iran’s reported proposal a possible basis for talks, drawing fresh attention to U.S.-Iran tensions. A temporary two-week ceasefire has eased immediate fears, with reports saying Shehbaz Sharif and other regional players helped push diplomacy forward.
The reported proposal includes major demands such as easing sanctions, recognizing Iran’s nuclear program, and broader security guarantees. A key issue is the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil route, making the talks important far beyond the region.
Reactions remain mixed. Some see the ceasefire as a chance to reduce tensions, while others view it as only a short pause. For now, the agreement offers temporary relief, but long-term stability remains uncertain.
