Born in Pasadena in 1946, Sally Field grew up around Hollywood but fought to define herself. Early roles in Gidget and The Flying Nun risked typecasting her, yet she pushed beyond them, earning acclaim with powerful performances in Norma Rae and Places in the Heart.
Beyond acting, she became a strong advocate for mental health, women’s rights, and LGBTQ+ equality. Her legacy isn’t just her awards—it’s the honesty and courage she’s inspired in others.
