The reported arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, has drawn widespread attention, with new details emerging about what he allegedly said at the moment he was taken into custody.
He was reportedly detained on February 19, 2026 — his 66th birthday — on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Authorities are said to be examining claims tied to his time as UK trade envoy and possible links to Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew spent about 11 hours in custody before being released under investigation, as police continue reviewing properties connected to him.
The legal scrutiny comes amid personal upheaval, as he was already in the process of leaving Royal Lodge for a smaller residence on the Sandringham Estate following the loss of his royal roles.
