Kate Kaufling may not have won the battle in the way the world often defines victory, but she never gave up the spirit that defined her. Between hospital visits and classes, she continued reaching out to others—checking on friends, encouraging teammates, and sharing a smile even on the hardest days. She faced fear and frustration honestly, yet refused to let illness define her life.
After her passing, what remains is the example she left behind. She moved through her most difficult moments with kindness, determination, and dreams of helping future patients. Her family, twin sister, and teammates now carry both sorrow and pride, remembering a courage that continues to inspire even in her absence.
