Tim Conway turned a simple sketch on The Carol Burnett Show into one of television’s most memorable comedy moments through his remarkable timing and improvisational talent. In the famous “Dr. Nose” sketch, Conway played an eccentric doctor treating a patient with an exaggeratedly large nose, using subtle pauses, expressive gestures, and playful physical comedy to elevate the scene far beyond its straightforward script. When a small prop mishap occurred during the performance, Conway effortlessly incorporated it into the act, turning an unexpected moment into one of the sketch’s funniest highlights. His ability to react naturally and stay fully in character created genuine laughter from both the audience and the cast, demonstrating why his performances on the show remain beloved decades later.
