The crash of Greg Biffle’s private plane in North Carolina claimed the life of the 55-year-old NASCAR star and wiped out the future of a young family. Authorities confirmed seven people were killed, with the intense post-crash fire initially complicating identification. Friends who had been expecting the Biffles for a routine visit were instead left grappling with sudden loss.
Rep. Richard Hudson and others remembered Biffle not only for his fearlessness on the track, but for his generosity and quiet service off it. Tributes described a devoted husband to Cristina, a loving father to Ryder and Emma, and a man who helped without seeking attention. In a single moment, racing lost a champion, and those closest to him lost the heart of their circle.
