Born in Syracuse, New York, David Muir grew up in a household where the news mattered, shaping his early respect for truth, education, and integrity. That foundation carried him from local reporting to anchoring ABC World News Tonight, where his calm, steady presence has guided viewers through moments of crisis and change. Away from the spotlight, he remains grounded in the same values—privacy, humility, and gratitude—quietly navigating personal challenges while continuing to show up for the audience he serves.
