A New Zealand TV presenter proudly sporting her traditional Māori facial tattoo has fired back at a viewer who criticized her appearance, calling her tā moko a “bad look.”
The presenter, who embraces her Māori heritage through the sacred markings, responded with grace and strength, saying her tattoo represents cultural identity, pride, and ancestry — not fashion. She reminded viewers that tā moko is a symbol of heritage and storytelling deeply rooted in Māori tradition.
Support quickly poured in online, with many praising her confidence and respect for her culture. Fans called out the critic for ignorance, saying her appearance is a powerful reminder of the importance of cultural pride and representation on national television.
