Global attention turned to the White House as King Charles III and Queen Camilla began a four-day U.S. visit, welcomed by Donald Trump and Melania Trump.
A brief moment sparked online debate when Trump appeared to touch the King’s shoulder—an action that goes beyond typical royal protocol. While some saw it as a breach of etiquette, others viewed it as informal and harmless.
Experts noted the gesture likely wasn’t disrespectful, and overall the meeting remained friendly, with the visit focused on strengthening U.S.–U.K. relations.
