The hip-hop world is mourning the loss of Oliver “Power” Grant, a key force behind the rise of the Wu-Tang Clan, who has passed away at 52. While others stood in the spotlight, Grant worked behind the scenes, helping turn a group of Staten Island artists into a global cultural brand.
In the early ’90s, as hip-hop fought for recognition, Wu-Tang didn’t just make music—they changed the business. Grant played a major role in that vision, understanding that music was only the beginning. His influence helped redefine artist independence and left a lasting mark on the industry.
