When Air Canada Jazz Flight 8646 struck a fire truck on LaGuardia’s Runway 4, the impact was devastating. The cockpit was destroyed, killing both pilots and injuring many. In the chaos, flight attendant Solange Tremblay was thrown over 100 meters in her jump seat—yet rescuers found her alive on the tarmac.
Her survival is being called extraordinary. Despite severe injuries, including a shattered leg, doctors were able to treat her. Experts believe the reinforced jump seat, built to withstand extreme force, played a crucial role—turning a fatal moment into a rare second chance.
