A closed-door deposition involving Hillary Clinton was briefly paused this week after a photo taken inside the hearing room surfaced online, raising concerns about confidentiality and House rules. Clinton appeared before the House Oversight Committee on February 26 as part of a broader inquiry tied to Jeffrey Epstein. In her opening remarks, she said she had no direct contact with Epstein, did not travel with him, and had no knowledge of his crimes. Midway through the session, an image shared online prompted officials to halt proceedings and review how it was taken and distributed, since photography is typically barred in private depositions. Clinton’s advisers objected strongly, while committee staff examined whether any rules were breached. The investigation continues, with Bill Clinton also expected to testify. The incident underscores the ongoing challenge of balancing confidentiality with public transparency in high-profile inquiries.
