A Cedar Falls mother rushed into the town’s fire station carrying her two toddlers after they suddenly developed breathing trouble during a park outing. Firefighters immediately evaluated the girls, provided oxygen, and called paramedics. Doctors later confirmed the children suffered an acute allergic reaction, likely triggered by pollen or plant exposure. After monitoring, both were released the same day.
Officials praised the mother’s quick decision to seek help at the nearest emergency point, saying it prevented complications. The fire department emphasized the incident was not a public hazard but a reminder for families to watch for allergy symptoms and act fast if children show breathing distress or dizziness. Both girls are now recovering normally.
