Xueli Abbing, a 16-year-old girl born in China with albinism, was abandoned at an orphanage. Her name means “snow white and beautiful.” Adopted by a family in the Netherlands, she began modeling at 11, despite facing prejudice. Featured in Vogue Italia in 2019, she now uses her platform to raise awareness about albinism, calling it a genetic condition, not a curse. Xueli hopes to change perceptions and end violence against people with albinism. “I want to change the world,” she says.
We wish Xueli the best in her mission for greater acceptance.
