Maureen McCormick rose to fame as Marcia Brady on The Brady Bunch, becoming one of the most recognizable teen idols of the 1970s. Born in 1956 in California, she began acting in commercials before landing the role that defined her career and made her a pop-culture icon.
After the show ended in 1974, McCormick struggled to escape the shadow of her famous character while facing addiction and depression behind the scenes. She later shared her story in her 2008 memoir, revealing the emotional toll of child stardom and her path to recovery.
Today, her legacy extends beyond television nostalgia — she’s widely admired for her honesty, resilience, and willingness to speak openly about mental health and life after fame.
