The Beverly Hillbillies turned its cast into television icons, and today Max Baer Jr. remains the final surviving main star of the classic sitcom. As Jethro Bodine, Baer’s comic timing and lovable innocence helped make the Clampett family a cultural phenomenon during the show’s 1962–1971 run.
After the series ended, Baer stepped back from acting and focused on producing and business ventures, including film projects and casino investments. Though forever linked to Jethro, he built a career beyond the role, securing long-term financial success while preserving his place in TV history as part of one of America’s most beloved comedies.
